The NYS Writers Hall of Fame was established in conjunction with the Empire State Center for the Book to highlight the rich literary heritage of New York State and to recognize the legacy of individual New York State writers. On Friday, April 9, 2010, the first Gala and Induction Ceremony into the NYS Writers Hall of Fame was held, and ten past and two current writers were inducted. New members are inducted at the annual Gala.
