The first annual Empire State Book Festival was held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.  The free public event was attended by over 2,100 people, offered 45 programs with 160 authors, writers, poets, journalists and storytellers. Gregory Maguire, the author of Wicked was the keynote speaker.  

The second annual Empire State Book Festival was held Saturday, April 2, 2011, featuring Ann M. Martin, Rosanne Cash and an interview with Paula Fox, 2011 Hall of Fame inductee.
