The NYS Writers Hall of Fame was established in conjunction with the Empire State Center for the Bookand the Empire State Book Festival to highlight the rich literary heritage of the New York State and to recognize the legacy of individual New York State writers. On Friday, April 9, 2010, the first induction ceremony into the NYS Writers Hall of Fame was held and ten past and two current writers were inducted. New members are inducted annually. The New York State Library will be home of the NYS Writers Hall of Fame.
